Striped Bass Charters
Hingham has some of the best Striped bass fishing in New England. The deep channels, rocks and currents provide an amazing ecosystem for stripers to feed and rest. We run two Striped Bass trips. An inshore trip where we fish close to Hingham, sometimes just right in the harbor. Captain Jake has been fishing these waters since he was 5 years old and knows them very well. We also offer an offshore trip over to Province town or up the coast near Duxbury to target large schools of Striped Bass.
The best months to do a Striped Bass Charter is when they arrive in May until they leave in September.
What to expect
For an Inshore Striped Bass Charter we run morning and afternoon trips. A typical trip would leave the dock at 5:00-6:00 am. We then head out to search for pogies or mackerel usually just a few miles off shore. We then bring the baits close to shore near rocks and live line for Stripers.
For the offshore Striper trips we would leave around 5:00 am and make the steam across Cape Cod Bay to Province town. We will stop to get live bait at Stellwagen Bank often seeing some whales while bait fishing. When we arrive at the fishing grounds, depending on how the fish are moving, we might also use artificial lures to keep up with the fast moving schools of Stripers and Bluefish.
Regulations change from year to year. Currently we are allowed to keep one Striped Bass per person measuring between 28”- 35”. We will filet and bag the catch for you.
